This week I found myself on yet another Wednsday night with nothing to do. Desperately looking for a change of pace I called our newest photographer Jordan Adkins to see if he wanted to meet up and maybe get some food. Little did I know he was on his way to Penske Toyota in Downey for the first ever Scion FR-S meet and greet. Toyotas you say? FR-S you say? I was out the door so fast I forgot my keys… Twice.
As expected the grandfathers of the FR-S (the AE-86) arrived in droves, but none stood out more than these two gorgeous red Trueno’s. Rocking gorgeous fitment and still maintaining there own uniqueness, as it seems all Truenos do.
The old school Toyota’s weren’t short in attendance either. Much like the Corolla, ultra rare Starlet, and 1JZ swapped Cressida sedan you see above. Where this meet lacked in size it certainly made up for in style and originality regardless of the make, model, or year.
Our friend Brandon Carr made it out with some his fellow MR-2 enthusiasts. Such as the gorgeous SW20 3S-GTE you see above from team Nuisance rocking some nasty fitment on some gorgeous Blitz wheels.
Though I’ve always had a strong attraction to the AE-86, I’ve yet to see a well done Levin conversation.. Until my eyes fell upon this beautiful Corolla with a near flawless front end and gorgeous two tone paint too match!
Every meet has its odd ball. Here we found our selves staring at this hardtop Honda S2000. Complete with Recaro’s and Mugen hardtop, homeboy looked ready for the track! Though we didn’t get to see under the hood of it, it sounded like a beast pulling out.
All in all it was a good way to kill some time and spend time getting to know some of our new staff members. Be sure to stayed tuned for more features, more coverage, and a ton more shenanigans coming here on Stance Stories real soon! Also be sure to keep an eye out for our new photographer Jordan Adkins at your local meet! As well as the rest of our new staff members.
