James Oliver’s Honda Prelude

The Honda Prelude is one of the least seen and most under appreciated cars in the scene today. In a lot of ways you could say these cars have definitely seen better days. James Oliver is a rare breed of enthusiast, choosing a rare and hardly sought build as opposed to the popular options in the car scene today. After speaking to James for a short while it becomes apparent that he, much like his car, is a different breed of enthusiast all together.

Question: Tell us about yourself, and how you got involved in the stance scene?

Answer: My name is James Oliver and I am from Anaheim, California. I got involved in the stance scene back 2010. Before I even started driving the Prelude I always wondered whenever I see the OG heads of the stance game “Why the hell is their wheels slanted, is it broken or something?”… One of my brothers friends, Dranom, an O.G of the G35 community which is now the President/Founder of our crew Style63, opened both me and my brothers eyes to the stance game he thought us a lot of stuff about it…

Question: How did you come to own your car and why did you choose it?

Answer: I obtained the car in December of ’08 over at Hyundai Anaheim dealership. I chose the Prelude as my platform because I always see Civic’s, Accords, 350z, G35s everywhere at meet or shows, hardly see a prelude, and most of all its really a challenging build since parts are all back-ordered or discontinued and you have to buy them used and rebuild them.

Question: Is there anyone you’d like to thank thats helped you on the road to getting your build to where it is today?

Answer: First of all, I would like to thank my parents for being so supportive in what I do in my car. And also i would like to thank my crew StyleSixtyThree without them this prelude is really nothing, they throw me ideas on what I should do and help me get to where Im at now… To my mentor Ojay Bayang who’s always giving me words of wisdom on the scene, to the people/blogs/website who made my car stand out Canibeat.com, Hellaflush.com, CarsXHype, Whips&Chocolate, ImportFashion, VIPSTYLECARS.com, Big Mike which is the role model of all Prelude owners! Especially my friends over at BPVIP, Royal Flush, Royal Origin & LibertyVIP WEST! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU GUYS! I’m really thankful to have met and known you all!

Question: What do you feel sets your car apart from others in the scene?

Answer: I don’t really know what sets me apart from other people in the scene, I guess the only thing that sets me apart is I made my Prelude classy looking more like a V.I.P inspired build, unlike like every other Prelude who tend to go for the “sporty” type build instead.
